Temple elementary students came together for a Christmas performance directed by Mrs. Rachael Redmond. It was held at Lima Baptist Temple’s auditorium on Thursday night, December 6, 2012.

The program began with the fifth grade band playing “Jingle Bells” directed by Dennis Crites, band director at TCS. Mr. Crites commented that the fifth grade musicians sounded great and have a lot of potential.  Then the pre-school students, who were dressed as little angels, came up on the stage and sang two delightful songs. “The Angel Band” featured second grade soloist Jessica Holloway.

The play wove together the Bible with the story of a family in which the parents decide to educate their children about the true meaning of Christmas–Christ’s birth. The students combined the story with the songs “Here I Am to Worship”, “Silent Night”, and “Cradle Song”.

Mrs. Redmond remarked that “Carol Medley” was her favorite song that was sung that night because it had three individual songs in the medley, which were “Joy to the World”, “Hark the Herald”, and “Angels We Have Heard on High”.

At the end of the performance, Mrs. Redmond was honored with a bouquet of roses that showed the students’ and teachers’ appreciation for all of her hard work. Mrs. Redmond said, “The kids worked so hard and did such a great job.” She followed up with individual thanks to all the people who had helped contribute to the production of the show.
