Senior Jacqueline Brianne Sweeney, 17, was born September 13, 1999, at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima, Ohio. She attended Shawnee Schools from kindergarten through fifth grade and has gone to Temple Christian School as of the sixth grade. Jacqueline currently resides in Delphos, Ohio with her father Eric, mother Nicole, older brother Jaden, younger sister Jennessa, and younger brother J.D. At school, she is active in student government as TCS’s Student Body President, the Vice President of National Honor Society, Senior Class Treasurer, a varsity cheerleader, and Yearbook Editor in Chief. She was also voted the 2016 Homecoming Queen with her boyfriend, Rylan Ward, as King.
Outside of school, Jacqueline serves at her church, Calvary Chapel of Praise in the children’s ministry department and worship team, along with participation in drama productions. On Tuesday nights, Jacqueline volunteers as a leader at the Teens for Christ Shawnee Jr. High Chapter where she helps teach and encourage middle school students in the Christian faith. She also attends TFC’s annual Boot Camp and is involved in activities with her church’s youth group. Jacqueline is very passionate about sharing with others the love of Christ and lets that shine through how she spends her time.
When asked her favorite TV show and movie, Jacqueline shared she enjoys watching Friends and is a huge fan of Breakfast at Tiffany’s. In her free time, she enjoys drinking coffee, especially from Biggby Coffee in Lima, and listening to worship music from her favorite artists and bands Bethel Music, United Pursuit, Hillsong United, Elevation Worship, and Steffany Gretzinger.
Jacqueline’s life verse is Philippians 1:6 (NIV) “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” This goes along with her favorite quote, “I hope you know you’re capable and brave, and significant…Even when it feels like you’re not.” A favorite celebrity of Jacqueline’s is Audrey Hepburn because of her sophistication and class. However, her role models are Steffany Gretzinger and Amanda Cook, her favorite worship artists.
Jacqueline shared, “My favorite part about going to Temple has definitely been the people that I have had the pleasure of meeting and building friendships with.” When asked her future plans after graduation she replied, “I know that I definitely will be working in the area of youth ministry in some capacity. I would love to go to college and minor in youth ministry. I have not completely decided on a major yet. I want to do whatever God leads me to do. I strongly believe that a successful life is a life lived in the Will of God.” As she closes this door to high school, she will miss all the experiences she had with her class and the family she has found at Temple that have caused her to create memories which will last a lifetime. Thank you, Jacqueline, for sharing! Congratulations, and blessings over the end of your senior year!
