Senior Spotlight: Sydney Rex

Sydney Paige Rex is a graduating senior who was born on September 14, 1998. Sydney’s parents are Shannon Eagy and Jared and Melinda Rex, and she has attended school here at Temple since K4. She went to Allen East for her junior year, and then came back to Temple for her senior year. Known for her bright smile, Sydney has thoroughly enjoyed her career here at Temple Christian, having been involved in many activities and sports. When asked about some of her favorite activities during her time here at Temple she said, “My favorite part of high school would have to be spending it with all the people I have grown up with, and playing volleyball with all my friends. Playing sports is a great way to not only be involved in the school but also a great way to just have fun with your friends.”

While at Temple, Sydney has played volleyball for three years, sang in the school choir for two and a half, participated on the yearbook staff for one year, played clarinet in band for two years, and had a role in the musical production of “Hello Dolly.” Sydney has said her most impactful memory while at Temple was the bonds she was able to build with the students and to be in an atmosphere of such loving and caring people. She stated, “The staff has really made an impact on my life by putting in individual time with me to help me succeed over the years, and I truly appreciate that!”

Sydney currently attends Lima First Assembly of God with her mom and Lima Community Church of the Nazarene with her dad. Her life verse is Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” She said, “This verse means a lot to me because no matter how stressed I may be about different things, I know that God is always there one step ahead of me. He will never let me go through something that is more than I can handle.” Congratulations to Sydney as she graduates and continues to her next chapter!
