Senior Spotlight: Dawson Draper

By: Jonathan Acklin (Senior)

Dawson Dennis Draper was born on October 30, 2000. He is the son of Jason and Lori Draper. He has two siblings, Brendan, a TCS graduate, and Ashton, a current TCS student. Dawson has attended Temple since the end of 1st grade. Dawson enjoys playing basketball and was involved in the musical Fiorello! His favorite part of high school is going to the basketball games.

Dawson Draper currently attends church at Shawnee Alliance. His favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.”

Dawson plans to attend Wright State University to major in criminal justice after high school. He says, “I hope to one day make good money doing what I love, not do something that I hate just because it pays me well, but doing what I want to do. I want to be the most successful I can be and raise my kids to the best of my ability in a good environment.”  If Dawson could hang out with any celebrity for a day, he said he would choose Matthew Stafford, because not only is he an NFL quarterback, but Dawson thinks they have similar personalities and could get along very well.

Dawson’s advice to the underclassmen is, “You hear this every year, but it truly goes by fast. Live it up now, because college is stressful.” Dawson says that the friendships he has made through sports at Temple have affected his life the most.

Dawson, congratulations on a successful high school career! We are confident God has great plans for your future.
