August 25 Newsletter

Hello TCS families. We are excited about the beginning of a new school year. Thank you for choosing TCS. We are grateful for the opportunity we have had to minister to your family. Our mission at TCS is to glorify God by providing for students a Christ-centered education marked by excellence and grounded in Biblical Truth. We are trusting the Lord for a great year. Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you.

Welcome new staff members:

Please welcome the following new staff members to TCS: Susan Searcy (H.S English), Paul Green (H.S. Social Studies), Linda Kiser (Elementary Aide), and Pam Smith (Administrative Professional). We praise the Lord for His provision each year.

Student Medical Records/Information:

Please make sure that you have turned in all of the required medical and other required paperwork from the summer packet that is posted on our website. The TCS website is www.tcspioneers.org. Packets are also available in the elementary office. Please remember that if your child needs to take any medication (prescription, over the counter, cough drops, etc.), they must have the medication and paperwork signed and turned into the office.

2017-18 Immunization Requirements for 7th and 12th grade students:

Incoming seventh graders for the 2017-18 school year are required to have a Tdap vaccination and the Meningococcal vaccine. The Meningococcal vaccine is also required for students entering 12th grade in the fall of 2017. This is a state requirement that went into effect last year. Students without proof of vaccination can be subject to exclusion from school. One option that families have is a Teen Immunization Clinic for students entering grades 7 and 12, held at the Allen County Health Department on August 30th from 2:00pm-5:00pm. You can call the Health department at 419-228- 4457 to schedule an appointment. Appointments are preferred. Walk-ins will be seen as time allows.

Witness Wear:

Witness Wear order forms are due on Friday September 1 st . Our first Witness Wear day is September 6th . Students may wear old Witness Wear items or blue and white items, along with a pair of jeans on Witness Wear days until our new Witness Wear arrives. Once our new Witness Wear arrives, students must wear the 2017-18 items. Old Witness Wear items and blue and white items will no longer be permitted.

Comments from Mrs. Marshall (Elementary Principal):

It has been a joy seeing the students’ excitement in starting back to school. The classes have many learning activities planned . Please be sure to browse over the newsletters from the classroom teachers to keep up with the fun! Teachers’ emails are located on the newsletters as well as the website. If parents have any questions, we would be glad to help!
