Weekly Newsletter

December 1st Newsletter

Hello TCS families. I trust you have had a good week. Psalm 84:10 says, “Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked”. It is truly a blessing for us as Christians to be children of God and to serve Him on a daily basis. Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you. Have a great weekend!

Witness Wear Day:

We will be having a Witness Wear Day on Wednesday December 6th. This date was not on the original school calendar, so we wanted to let everyone know well in advance.

The varsity and j.v. boys open their 2017-18 season at Ottoville tonight, Friday Dec. 1st, at 6:00 P.M. The Pioneers will then be at home this Saturday night Dec. 2nd vs. Continental at 5:00 P.M. Saturday is also Hall of Fame night.

The elementary Christmas program is scheduled for this coming Thursday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 P.M. Students should arrive by 6:15 P.M. in their respective classrooms. For students who have costumes, it is preferable that they come with their costume on and ready to go.

K5 and 1st grade- The students in these classes are angels. They should wear white shirts/tops and white or khaki pants. Girls may wear white dresses.

2nd grade – Wear shepherd costume.

3rd, 4th, and 5th- Wear nice Christmas clothing unless you have a special part with a costume. If you are wearing a costume, dressy clothing is not needed underneath. Just wear what looks good with the costume and is comfortable.

Elementary Christmas Ministry/Giving Opportunity:

For their Christmas project this year, elementary students have the opportunity of blessing two local organizations with items that allow them to minister to needy individuals and families in our community. Students were given a handout with specific items requested by Guiding Light Ministry, which is a faith-based organization for women who need help becoming self-sufficient. The organization provides shelter, education, guidance, and faith. The handout also includes items collected by the GAP Pantry. This is a ministry, here at Lima Baptist Temple, which provides household items for those who are less fortunate in our community.

Christmas Tree Festival:

The K4 and the 4 year old preschool students had the opportunity to visit the Christmas Tree Festival at the Allen County Museum this past Wednesday. The kids had a great time singing, visiting the Talking Christmas Tree, working on crafts, and participating in a variety of other fun activities.
