Friday – December 15th Newsletter

Hello TCS families. Christmas is a wonderful time of year. Luke 2:8-11 says, “And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord”. Enjoy the Christmas season with your family. Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you. Have a great weekend and Merry Christmas!

Board Election:

The TCS School Board Election will take place next Tuesday evening, Dec. 19th at the high school and middle school band/choir program. If any TCS parents or teachers cannot make the Christmas concert, you can pick up a ballot in the elementary office on Monday Dec. 18th and return it by Tuesday Dec. 19th at 3:30 P.M. All candidates who receive a majority of yes votes will join the TCS Board of Education. All ten candidates could be elected and join the board if they receive yes votes on 50% of the ballots. Band/Choir Christmas Concert:

We invite you to come and enjoy the TCS middle school and high school band/choir Christmas concert this coming Tuesday evening Dec. 19th at 7:00 P.M. We look forward to Mrs. Brokaw and the students blessing us with this Christmas program.

Staff Christmas Luncheon:

The TCS staff enjoyed an incredible Christmas luncheon on Dec. 14th thanks to our teacher appreciation committee comprised of several TCS parents. Thanks to the committee for putting together this special luncheon. If you would be interested in joining the teacher appreciation committee, please contact Amy Link in the elementary office.

Hearing and Vision Screenings:

Hearing and vision screenings were done for students in grades K4, K5, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th grades, and all new students this past fall. Students who did not pass one or both of the screenings were re-screened November 3rd. If those students failed the screenings a second time, referral forms were sent home with the students indicating follow up testing by your child’s physician or eye doctor is recommended. If your child received a referral letter and you did follow up with their physician, please return the completed form signed by the physician back to the office to the attention of the school nurse. We need to submit a report to the state of all of the results of vision/hearing referrals at the end of the school year. Thank you!

Elementary Chapel:

The high school seniors led the elementary chapel today. The praise team led us in traditional Christmas songs. The seniors also presented the Nativity Skit that they recorded and edited through iMovie. The added comedic touch made it a hit for all!
