Friday – February 7, 2020

Hello TCS families. I hope everyone has enjoyed the snow days.  Stay warm and safe. Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you. Have a great weekend!

Medical Leave:

I wanted to share with our school family that I will be taking a medical leave of absence for the next few weeks in order to undergo heart surgery.  I would certainly appreciate your prayers.   I want you to know that the school will be in very capable hands.  Our leadership team is a very strong group.  Mr. McPheron, Mrs. Marshall, Mr. Green, and Mrs. Link will be picking up additional responsibilities in my absence.  I am looking forward to returning to my role once I have completed my recovery process.  I appreciate all of those who have blessed my family with prayers, cards, and encouraging words. The Lord is good, and He is faithful. Thanks again for your prayers.

In Him,

-Mr. Bowman

School Safety Drill:

Temple Christian School conducts safety drills each year so that our teachers and students can be prepared for an emergency situation where we must lock-down the building and classrooms in order to ensure our children’s safety.  We will be conducting a school safety drill on Wednesday, Feb. 12th.

Cheer Camp:

The cheer camp girls have enjoyed a great week. Thank you parents for your child’s participation and for your patience all week due to the weather. Thank you to ALL of our cheerleaders for a great performance tonight at the game! Great job Girls!

100th Day Celebration:

Students and teachers celebrated the 100th day of school on Wednesday, February 5th.  Students participated in many fun activities such as: stringing 100 Cheerios to make a necklace, making trail mix using 100 pieces of snack food, walking and counting 100 steps, playing many 100th day games, and even writing about their lives at 100 years old. It was especially fun seeing the children dress as 100 year old people. They were certainly adorable!

4th Grade 100th Day Celebration:

On Wednesday, we celebrated our 100th day of school! The fourth graders made their own t-shirts with 100 items on them and wore them to school! We did a 100th day writing assignment and 100th day centers! The students had to build something with 100 cups, make a masterpiece out of 100 marshmallows, do a math 100th day craft, and do 100 exercises! We had a great 100th day in the fourth grade!

Book Fair:

Please mark your calendars now!  The annual TCS Book Fair will be bigger and better than ever!  We will be open for business March 4-6 and our online book fair will be open Feb. 26 – March 11.  In addition to Grandparent’s Day, we hope to make it even easier to build your family library and to bless our classrooms with more books.  Watch for more details coming soon!

Re-enrollment for the 2020-21 school year is scheduled to begin on February 10th. Thank you for choosing Temple for your children. We consider it a blessing to partner with you in your child’s education.  Look for an email next week with all of the information and forms you will need to re-enroll.

EdChoice Scholarship Renewal:

Renewals for EdChoice Expansion Scholarships began on Feb. 1st.  Renewals for EdChoice Traditional Scholarships have been delayed by the state until April 1st.  However, you may still submit your renewal forms to the office in advance so that we can submit them once the portal opens. Families wanting to renew their scholarships must complete TCS re-enrollment paperwork and pay the TCS re-enrollment fee before submitting EdChoice renewal applications. Please contact Amy Link at linka@tcspioneers.org in the elementary office if you have any questions.
