Hello TCS families. I trust everyone had a good week. 2 Thessalonians 3:13 says, “And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good”. Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you.
Third Grade Field Trip:
On Wednesday, the third grade took a field trip to Sauder Village in Archbold, OH. It was a beautiful day to see Ohio’s past on display. Students saw brooms being made, went to school in a one-room schoolhouse, made butter, and much more. Fun things included a ride on the train, a buggy ride, icecream, and of course souvenirs. It was a great day.
First/Second Grade Field Trip:
Tuesday, the first and second grades went to Hermon Woodlands. It was a perfect day for the park! The students went on a scavenger hunt, had a picnic, constructed a teepee, played in a large sandbox, and explored a small log cabin. They had a great time being creative and playing in God’s beautiful creation!
Fourth Grade Play:
You are invited to the annual Narnia Play performed by the 4th grade in their classroom. The parent performance is Wednesday May 16th at 1:00 P.M. The middle school/high school performance is Thursday May 17th at 1:00 P.M. The elementary performance is Friday May 18th at 9:00 A.M. We look forward to this every year. We love the props, sets, costumes, and sharing the beautiful story of Aslan and the four children becoming Kings and Queens in Narnia. Aslan giving his life for Edmond is a symbolic picture of how Jesus gave His life for us. There is such power in this beautiful story of sacrifice, redemption, and royalty.
Third Grade Play:
The third grade class will be performing their annual “The Trials of Tillie Tooth” play on Tuesday, May15th, at 8:20 A.M. and 2:15 P.M. in the 3rd grade classroom. You are invited to attend.
Student Government Game Day:
On Thursday, the TCS Student Government hosted its annual 9-12 Game Day. Forty students in 9-12th grade competed in spike ball, volleyball tournaments, and enjoyed pizza, pop, and prize drawings. Thank you to this year’s student government representatives for all of your hard work throughout the school year and on this event. Student Government is a self-nominating process in which students are elected by their peers to represent their classes throughout the year for various projects, events, and student activities. Student Government elections for 2018-2019 will take place on Friday May 18th via an online voting process!
TCS Golf Scramble:
The TCS golf scramble will be held on Saturday May 26th at 9:00 a.m. at the Hidden Creek Golf Club. To register online, go to: https://tcsgolfouting.eventbrite.com. Contact Athletic Director BJ McPheron (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
Spring Sports Physicals For Current 6th – 11th Graders:
The 2018-2019 Sports Physicals Packet has been released. The packet contains crucial documents for the 2018-2019 Athletic Seasons. All documents are required to be signed, and the physicians’ physical must be completed in order for any student to participate in a practice, scrimmage, or game by August 1, 2018. The packet includes information about the Free Sports Physical given at O.I.O on May 14th for those who were not able to take advantage of the opportunity on May 7th. Families are encouraged to complete all paperwork before the end of this school year so that everything is in place for next school year (*Especially those that play fall sports).
Booster Mulch Sale:
The Booster Club Mulch Sale is under way. Order forms are available in both offices and/or available by clicking here. The sale ends on May 21, 2018.
Lost & Found:
We encourage elementary students and parents to check the lost and found in the elementary office before the end of the school year. Items not picked up by the last day of school will be donated to a local thrift store.
If we have not heard from you regarding the 2018-19 school year, we would love to hear from you soon. We look forward to your family returning to TCS.
