Hello TCS families. I trust you have had a good week. Let’s take some time this month to thank the Lord for His blessings in our lives. Psalm 9:1 says, “I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds”. I am very grateful for my salvation through Christ, my family, my friends, Temple Christian School, our wonderful staff here at TCS, and each of our TCS families. Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you. Have a great weekend!
Thanks to all of those who joined us for our Veteran’s Day Program today. We enjoyed having the opportunity of honoring our Veterans. We appreciate their service to our country. Thanks to Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Brokaw, special guest speaker Sgt. Jessica Green, TCS elementary teachers and students, and all of our Veterans for making this program possible.
NHS visits Taylor University
The National Honor Society visited Taylor University (Upland, Indiana) last Friday. For several students, it was a first look at a college campus and first time to attend a college class. Many left excited about the prospects of post-secondary studies. Two students attended a special session about orphans and vulnerable children (a new major at Taylor), and another student spoke with a program director about his possible plans to pursue a degree in film. It was a special treat to hear Tim Tebow speak in chapel, and just a nice day all around shared with friends and classmates.
Elementary Pioneer Store Day
K-5 through 5th grade students enjoyed spending their hard-earned Pioneer dollars last Friday at the Pioneer store. Students receive Pioneer Bucks for going above and beyond in the classroom or by being great leaders in the school. Students were able to purchase fun items such as: hot chocolate, slime, dress down slips, and even free coupons for Menchie’s. If your child shares with you that they have earned a Pioneer Buck, it’s something to be proud of! The Pioneer store will be open each quarter to reward students for their positive behavior.
Elementary Field Trip to OSU Lima
Grades 3 and 4 went to OSU Lima campus to see a play called “Knufflebunny“. It is a story of a toddler whose bunny gets lost at the laundromat. Through the brave actions of her father, Knufflebunny and the little girl are reunited. We were very fortunate that they did this performance just for our school. Students were able to see what is necessary to put on a performance and the result of hard work.
Pioneer Rewards Activities
Pioneer Rewards activities were held last week for middle school and high school students who received one lunch detention or less during the first grading period. Approximately fifty high school students enjoyed lunches at Penn Station Subs, Panera Bread, or Bellacinos, with some Menchies for dessert, while thirty middle school students enjoyed a free period of games and candy! Congratulations students!

Thank You Note from the Najmulski Family
When Bob was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer in May 2017 we were devastated. We have always been realistic with each other and the kids about what this could mean and how it will impact the family. Initially, we were told that the goal was to cure Bob. His lung was blasted 30 times with radiation and it looked as though the cancer was dying. Then, the whole brain thing just kept coming back with a vengeance. How many times can you radiate your brain before it gets to be too much? Now, we are told that the goal is to extend his life. Bob is on very strong seizure medications. The brain is still swollen. We are trying to keep him off the steroids so the immunotherapy can work effectively. So, with all the treatments, medications and swelling he is no longer able to work.
The Temple Christian staff, students and parents are valued by my family, and I know we are valued by you. I would like to thank everyone who donated to the Go Fund Me page and who volunteered their time, food, money and other items for the benefit on Saturday. I would especially like to thank Mrs. Kinnear for all her time and effort in organizing the event. Her positive attitude is awe-inspiring. God continues to show my family He has us and has rallied His people (you) to surround us with love and support. Thank you from the bottom of my broken heart.
