Weekly Newsletter

Friday – October 12th 2018

Hello TCS families. We hope you had a great week.  Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you.

Homecoming Wrap-Up

We trust you all had a fun Homecoming weekend with us. I appreciate everyone’s flexibility as we needed to make several adjustments to the weekend due to the weather.

Thanks to Zach and Stacy Menke for heading up Homecoming again this year. We really appreciate their leadership in making this an enjoyable weekend for TCS families.

Homecoming King and Queen

Congratulations to Jonathan and Anna Acklin for being chosen as the 2018 TCS Homecoming King and Queen.

MAKERFEST

On Friday, October 19, the majority of Temple Christian high school students will be attending MAKERFEST 2018.  The senior class will be the first class to have an opportunity to attend MAKERFEST for four consecutive years. MAKERFEST is a gathering of Northwestern Ohio high school students competing in STEM competitions, while universities promote their STEM programs. Students will also attend a career fair, along with a breakout session to learn more about a topic of their choice. At the end of the day, awards are given for each competition. Best wishes to all of the competing TCS students.

Spelling Bee

The TCS Spelling Bee is open to all 4th-8th graders. Information was sent home with students this week. If your child is interested, please complete the information at the bottom of the form and return to either school office or Mrs. Helser by Tuesday, October 23. Practice sessions will be held after school in preparation for the TCS Spelling Bee, which will be held Wednesday, December 5, at 9 a.m.

Cancer Awareness Project

TCS student leaders dropped off $250.00 to the Mercy Health Sherry Halker Pink Ribbon Warrior Fund on Thursday. These were the donations collected on our Cancer Awareness dress down day.

Young People’s Concert

The 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders enjoyed the Lima Symphony Orchestra at the Lima Civic Center today.  Ariel flyers, acrobats, dancers, and jugglers joined in with the performance.  The music lended itself to the creative and gravity-defying feats of the circus-like acts being performed.  The title of this concert was Cirque de la Symphonique.

Pumpkin Patch

The K4 and K5 went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch (Swiss Country Markets). We had a great time playing on the hay bales that were made into a large fort.  We learned all about bees and pollination and pumpkins. Our favorite activity was the ride on the hay wagon to the pumpkin patch, where we picked out our own pumpkins.

FACTS/Renweb Merger

Our school information system (Renweb) will soon be known as FACTS. For now, there are no major changes that you need to be aware of. They are encouraging users to begin logging into factsmgt.com rather than renweb.com starting this weekend. Usernames and passwords will still be the same. However, those who log in to renweb.com will still be automatically directed to the new site. Hopefully, service will go on without interruption, and it will be a smooth transition.
