Friday – October 4, 2019

Hello Temple families. Please take a few minutes to read some TCS news and have a great weekend!

Homecoming Wrap-Up

We trust you all had a fun Homecoming Weekend with us. Thanks to Zach and Stacy Menke for heading up Homecoming again this year. We really appreciate their leadership in making this an enjoyable weekend for TCS families.

Homecoming King and Queen

Congratulations to Lydia Bassett and Lincoln Waters for being chosen as the 2019 TCS Homecoming King and Queen.

On Friday, October 18, the majority of Temple Christian high school students will be attending MAKERFEST 2019. MAKERFEST is a gathering of Northwestern Ohio high school students competing in STEM competitions, while universities promote their STEM programs. Students will also attend a career fair, along with a breakout session to learn more about a topic of their choice. At the end of the day, awards are given for each competition. In addition, nominations will be made and fifteen students from area schools will win $500 career credits to put toward college books/tuition, work supplies for trades, etc. Best wishes to all of the competing TCS students.

STEM Award

Congratulations to TCS senior, Lydia Bassett, who has been selected by Temple to receive the Honda – Ohio State STEM Award for the Class of 2020! Lydia was nominated and selected based on her academic performance in STEM subjects.

Anatomy and Physiology Class

Vital signs are an observable indication of the essential metabolic activities necessary for life. Erin Cooper, MPAS, PA-C, recently discussed and demonstrated blood pressure measurement with the Anatomy and Physiology class.

Elementary Chapel

The elementary was blessed today with a guest Chapel speaker, Mrs. Chambers. She introduced our students to the October Character trait, self-respect. Mrs. Chambers also shared the gospel with our students. She demonstrated with a pumpkin, full of slime and seeds, how Jesus cleans our hearts when we invite him to be our savior. Thanks, Mrs. Chambers! We enjoyed having you in Chapel today.

Elementary Field Trip

The 3rd-5th grade classes went to Suters Produce Farm on October 3rd, 2019. They had a great time maneuvering through a corn maze, enjoying hay rides, and picking out their very own pumpkins. The weather was beautiful, and the kids really enjoyed the experience!

TCS Golf

Congratulations to Senior Lincoln Waters! On Thursday, he competed in the Division III District Golf Tournament at Stone Ridge GC in Bowling Green. Lincoln qualified to move on to the State Golf Tournament by shooting a 75. Lincoln will now compete in the State Tournament, which is being held at The Ohio State University Scarlet Golf Course in Columbus, on Friday Oct. 12th and Sat. Oct. 13th. Congratulations and good luck Lincoln!
