October 13th Newsletter

Hello TCS families. I trust that it has been a good week. Thank you for allowing us to minister to your family. It is truly a blessing. We thank the Lord for each of you. Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you. Have a great weekend.

Fall Concert Date Change:

The date for the TCS Fall Spring Band/Choir Concert for grades 5-12 has been changed due to a scheduling conflict with our high school fall sports’ tournaments. The new date for the Fall Concert is Monday Oct. 23rd at 7:00 P.M. in the LBT auditorium.

Senior Art Field Trip:

The TCS senior art students visited the Mazza Art Museum in Findlay on Wednesday. Mrs. Phillips and the seniors ate lunch at a Chinese restaurant in Findlay before touring the museum, which was devoted to illustrations from children’s picture books.

Corn Maze Field Trip:

On Wednesday, the first and second grade classes went to Suter’s Corn Maze. The students went on a hayride, picked out a pumpkin, learned about animals in the forest, and how pumpkins grow. We are thankful the rain held off so we could have such a fun afternoon! Check out Facebook to see some cute photos of the students!

Little Pioneer Learning School – Positions Available:

The Little Pioneer Early Learning School is looking for two dynamic individuals to join our team. We are looking to hire a part-time teaching assistant and a reliable and flexible sub. Both positions provide assistance throughout the daycare and preschool program. Applicants should be willing to work with all age groups, including Infants through Pre-K, and the School Age Program. Both positions are part-time and year round. Qualifications include the following: high school diploma, one year experience (preferred), and Monday through Friday availability during the hours of the program. (6:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.) Please send resumes to leej@tcspioneers.org.

Box Tops:

Do you have a jar full of Box Tops at home? Now is the time to send them to school! We get 10 cents for every Box Top submitted. Our goal this year is $1000. We are almost halfway there already! Keep those Box Tops coming! Last year we were able to purchase new recess equipment with the money earned through this program.

In the elementary building, we will have a monthly drawing. For every 25 Box Tops turned in, the student gets to pick a prize and enter his or her name in a drawing. At the end of each month, one name will be drawn to win a special prize. Tayla Sperl was our winner for September.

To help us out, please make sure the Box Tops are not expired and are cut out neatly. Collection forms are available in the elementary office. Please DO NOT attach Bonus Box Tops certificates to the collection form. Bonus codes can be found on specially marked packages, at the bottom of some receipts, and in the stores during special promotions. You can also visit BTFE.com/bonus for more chances to win Bonus Box Tops. Thanks!

Parking Lot Safety:

Thank you for working with us to keep our parking lot safe for our kids and each other. Just a few reminders for all of us: Please drive slowly through the lot. All cars should enter the far entrance near the nursing home and creek. Elementary traffic should leave using the exit located west of the church/school sign and closer to the LBT church overhang. The high school traffic should leave using Burden Drive. Please do not use the exit nearest the nursing home and creek to leave the parking lot. Thank you.

Boys’ Soccer Tournament:

The Varsity boys’ soccer team will host its opening Sectional Tournament game on Tuesday Oct. 18th at home vs. Allen East. The game will begin at 5:00 P.M. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students. Since it is a tournament game, season, staff, student, and league passes cannot be accepted. If the boys win on Tuesday, they would play at Ottoville on Saturday at 5:00 P.M.

Girls’ Volleyball Tournament:

The Varsity girls’ volleyball team will open Sectional Tournament play at Ada on Monday Oct. 17th at 6:30 P.M. Tickets are $6 and $4. If the girls win on Monday, they would play again on Thursday at 6:30 P.M. against an opponent yet to be determined.
