Hello TCS families. We trust you have had a good week. We invite you to join us for our homecoming event this weekend. Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you.
Fire Safety Presentation:
Last Friday we had a visit from the fire department. The firemen put on a skit to share fire safety with our K-5 through 3rd graders. The students had a fun time learning about the importance of having a smoke detector, a safe meeting place, and how to report a fire.
Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch:
The K4 and K5 classes went to the Swiss Country Market this week. They call this their “pumpkin patch” field trip. While there, they learned about the pollination of bees and the different types of pumpkins and gourds. They also played on the hay bales, and took a hayride out to the field to pick out pumpkins. The kids all enjoyed a great time!
Superior Financial Education Day:
On Thursday, September 26th, Mr. Green and Mrs. Cooper took the Junior Economics and Applied Mathematics classes to the 2017 Superior Financial Education Day hosted by the University of Northwestern Ohio. As part of the event, our students participated in the Real Money, Real World Simulation (an OSU Extension Signature Program) and two break-out sessions. The students particularly enjoyed the simulation portion of the day. It was an interactive, hands-on experience that gave them the opportunity to make simulated lifestyle and budget choices similar to those adults face on a daily basis.
See You at the Pole:
We had an excellent group that joined us this past Wednesday morning for See You at the Pole. Our student government leadership did a great job of organizing and running the event. Students prayed and sang praise and worship songs for about 20 minutes before enjoying a doughnut on the way to class.
TCS Need Met:
Praise the Lord for using His faithful people to meet our need for a commercial refrigerator! We will be purchasing our new refrigerator soon.
TCS Spirit Store:
The spirit store will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:45 – 3:30 P.M. The store is located in the junior high hallway in the back building.
Positive Referral Donations needed:
Each week in grades 6-12, we recognize a student for his or her positive contributions to the TCS atmosphere. Would you be willing to donate $10 Gift Cards for these positive referral winners? If you can help, please notify Mr. McPheron (email@example.com) or drop off your donation of Gift Cards or Cash to the HS office (labeled “Positive Referral”). Examples of Gift Cards (Taco Bell, Gas Stations, Menchies, Movie Theatre, Fast Food, etc.)
