See You at the Pole
We will be holding this prayer event at the TCS flagpole on Wednesday morning September 26th at 7:30 a.m. All elementary students in grades K4-2nd grade must be accompanied by an adult. Otherwise, they are welcome to sit in the hallway and pray with Miss Mays.
Yearbook adviser Mrs. Susan Searcy and three leaders of the TCS Yearbook staff (Co-Editors Jennessa Sweeney and Sophie White, as well as returning staffer Brady Vondran) had the opportunity to attend the Jostens Fall Yearbook Workshop at Wapakoneta High School on Tuesday Sept. 18th. They learned many new things about producing yearbooks from keynote speaker, Kari Whistler. They learned about theming, organization, coverage, marketing and other yearbook related topics. They were able to see many other schools’ yearbooks and gain valuable ideas from many good resources. The students learned a lot and had a great time.
At the Fall Yearbook Workshop, Temple Christian School yearbook adviser, Mrs. Susan Searcy and staff, were surprised and blessed with learning that they are the recipients of the National Yearbook Program of Excellence Award. This award is a significant honor for a yearbook program. Criteria for receiving the award are that the yearbook staff and adviser have created a yearbook that is meaningful to the entire student body, that the book includes coverage of the majority of the students at least three times throughout the book, and that the staff and adviser have a proven record of effective project management, in terms of meeting deadlines and sales goals. Last year, only five schools in the state of Ohio received this award. We are excited to have received this award and want to thank the 2017-2018 yearbook staff, especially Co-Editors Shelby Feeney and Abby Johnston, and Digital Editor Alexis Waters, for their dedication and work that went into earning the National Yearbook Program of Excellence Award.

Please help us with the following few items regarding attendance: Notify office by 9:00 a.m. if your child is going to be out for the day; notify office in advance if your child has an appointment during the school day; notify office well in advance of any planned vacations; send absence verification note to school by the morning of the second day after returning to school. Thanks for your help with these attendance items.
On Monday, September 24th, the elementary office will collect all of the Box Tops that have been gathered throughout the last month. Each elementary grade has a Box Tops basket in their room. On the last Monday of the month, we will collect all Box Top baskets to see which grade has the most. The winning class will receive an extra recess and a tasty treat. If you have any extra Box Tops, please make sure that they are sent to school with your child by Monday, September 24th, to be included in this month’s contest.
