Hello TCS families. I trust you have had a good week. Thank you for your continued prayers for and support of Temple Christian School. Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you. Have a great weekend!
Note from the Nurse:
Influenza has been very prevalent in our community this winter. We are also seeing a rise in stomach viruses and various illnesses. Reminder to parents: Keep your student home if fever and/or symptoms are present. Our policy is that students may not return to school until they are fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications and 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting and/or diarrhea if they are experiencing those symptoms. This 24-hour rule applies to after school activities as well. If your child is home sick from school or sent home with the above symptoms or other illness, they should not attend school sponsored after school activities. Please also reinforce healthy habits with your child(ren). It is important to get plenty of rest and eat healthy; cover nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing; wash hands OFTEN with soap and water; and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Thank you for helping us keep our students healthy!
National Honor Society Food Drive:
This month we are having an exciting challenge! The Temple Christian National Honor Society Chapter is sponsoring its second annual food drive! Proceeds will go to New Life Church International Food Pantry, and we encourage TCS families to be involved. It is a friendly competition between the classes in the school (k4-12) and is a great way to get involved in the community! The drive will be held Feb. 17-27, with our goal being 4000 cans! Let’s meet our goal!
This Saturday February 11th, the J.V. and Varsity boys’ basketball teams will be playing Jackson Center at home beginning at 6:00 P.M. This night will be our annual senior night where we honor all of our winter sports senior athletes. The ceremony will take place in between games at approximately 7:00 P.M. We would like to invite you to come out and enjoy the night with us! Congratulations seniors!

We are looking for families interested in hosting an exchange student in their home for 2017-2018 school year. To begin the application process, go to www.phs.asse.com. Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart:
We will be wrapping up our Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser next Friday, Feb. 17.We would love to reach our goal of $1,000! We are currently at about 65% of that. Be sure to get your money in next week sometime in the morning between 7:40-7:55. All of the prizes earned by your children that were not immediate gifts (the three animal trinkets on the lanyards) will get ordered and shipped here within a few weeks after we end the fundraiser. To celebrate, each class K4-5th grade will get to have a little party during their gym class. We’ll have music, healthy snacks, and some heart-pumping contests with prizes in class! Thanks for all of your support and prayers during these last few weeks.
