TCS Newsletter

Hello TCS families. I hope you have had a good week. Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you. Have a great weekend!

Geography Bee: Temple Christian School held its annual National Geographic Bee on Wednesday, January 25th. Fifteen students from the 4th-8th grades entered the competition. Ten students advanced to the finals. Congratulations to Ethan Wright (Geography Bee Champion), Isaiah Kaiser (2nd place), and Landon Hoard (3rd place) for their top finishes in this competition.

Reading Month: We are quickly approaching reading month, which takes place each March in the elementary. We are looking forward to a fun filled month of themed activities and incentives that encourage students to read. Our Scholastic Book Fair will be held February 28th-March 2nd. If you are interested in assisting with the book fair, please contact Amy Link in the elementary office.

American Heart Association Jump Rope for Heart: The elementary (grades k4-5th) will be participating in the Jump Rope for Heart program. Starting next week, students will be raising money to help support heart research. We will also learn about how our hearts work and the importance of taking care of them. Please see the packet sent home with your child today. Please, by all means, do not feel obligated to participate. As we shared with our students today, we can support this cause through prayer by praying for the young children, mothers, fathers, and grandparents affected by heart issues. We can also pray for the researchers and doctors who help those with heart issues. We are excited to help others and learn how to care for our hearts!

Substitute Teachers: If you know of anyone who would be qualified to sub at Temple Christian, please have them contact Amy Link at the school office at 419 227-1644or linka@tcslima.org. Thanks.

Parking Lot Reminders: Please remember that those dropping off and picking up students in the back parking lot (middle school/high school) should enter our parking lot at the east entrance by the creek/nursing home and then leave the parking lot via Burden Drive located on the west side of the back lot. Those dropping off and picking up in the front parking lot (elementary) should also enter our parking lot at the east entrance by the creek/nursing home and then leave the lot using the west exit just to the west of the church sign. Thanks for your help in these matters.
