Hello TCS families. I trust everyone had a good last week of school. It is hard to believe that we are wrapping up another year. Thank you for allowing us to minister to your family. We hope that you enjoy your summer, and we look forward to seeing you back next year. May the Lord richly bless each of you. Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you.
The first day of school for the 2019-20 school year will be Monday August 26th.
Here is the 2019-20 school calendar.
We invite you to attend the Temple Christian School Graduation Ceremony tonight at 7:00 P.M. in the LBT auditorium. Join us as we honor and celebrate the Class of 2019.
If your child has medication at school, please be sure to stop by the office in your child’s building today, May 24th to pick it up. Medication cannot be picked up by students. Medication not picked by the end of school will be discarded.
Elementary Kickball Tournament:
The weather held off on Tuesday allowing the 3rd-5th grade students to have a day full of fun. Students were divided into three teams and played several friendly games of kickball throughout the day. Students had a great time cheering on their team and making end of the year memories with their classmates.
Elementary Field Day:
Mrs. Lawrence organized and led the school on her very last “field day” on Wednesday. Students participated in several events such as running, softball toss, sack races, and the crowd favorite, wheelbarrow race. Students had a blast and demonstrated great sportsmanship as they encouraged one another to do their best.
4th Grade Play:
The Narnia play was a huge success! Thanks for supporting the fourth graders and thanks to all that helped with our production! It is a blessing to have such a great school and the opportunity to share the beautiful story of what Jesus did for us in such a fun and creative way!
Marine Corps Honors:
At Thursday’s high school awards assembly, Sgt. Kenneth Barnett presented seniors Brody Bowman, Dakota Clay, and Jonathan Acklin with special awards on behalf of the United States Marine Corps. Brody was awarded the United States Marine Corps Award for Athletic Excellence. Dakota was awarded the United States Marine Corps Award for Academic Excellence. Jonathan was awarded the Semper Fidelis Award for Musical Excellence.
D.A.R.E. Essay Winner:
Congratulations to Moriah Szuch for being Temple’s D.A.R.E. essay contest winner. Essay winners from Allen County schools participated in a Hometown Stations Noon Edition Program and went out for pizza with Sheriff Treglia and Deputy Ted. Congratulations, Moriah!
Incoming seventh graders for the 2019-20 school year will be required to have a Tdap vaccination and the Meningococcal vaccine prior to the start of the school year. The Meningococcal vaccine is also required for students entering 12th grade in the fall of 2019. These are state requirements. Students without proof of vaccination can be subject to exclusion from school. One option that families have is a Teen Immunization Clinic for students entering grades 7 and 12, held at the Allen County Health Department on August 21st from 2:00pm-5:00pm. You can call the Health Department at 419-228-4457 to schedule an appointment. Appointments are preferred. Walk-ins will be seen as time allows.
Fall Sports Registrations:
Fall sports registrations are open for K-8 Fall Sports. There is a $5.00 discount for those that register in May!
Summer Girls Basketball Camp:
The TCS Girls Basketball Program will be hosting a camp on July 15th and 16th for Girls in grades 3 through 12. The cost of the two-day camp is $10.00.
Thank you to all of our Temple Christian families who collected Box Tops for our school. We greatly appreciate your help! Starting in June, Box Tops will be slowly eliminating the need to clip the participating Box Top coupons found on your favorite products. Instead of clipping those Box Tops, you will be able to easily scan your grocery receipt with the participating Box Top products by using the Box Top app. The app will tied your receipt to our school account. Thank you for your continued support!
Allen County Fair – August 16 – 24, 2019:
Your help is needed at the Allen County Fair! Before you know it, the Allen County Fair will be here and Temple Christian School will once again have an information booth in the merchants building. Volunteers are needed at the booth to hand out TCS brochures and to speak with people about TCS. Would you be willing to help? Contact Richard Jueckstock, Director of Development at 567-224-8846 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Booster Mulch Sale:
The Booster Club Mulch Sale is under way. Order forms are available in both offices and on online at www.tcspioneers.org. Email Peter White at email@example.com for questions or stop by the offices for more information! The sale will continue throughout the summer. Summer orders must be emailed to Peter White at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lost and Found:
We have several items, including coats, sweatshirts, and a pair of black prescription eyeglasses in the elementary office. These items will be available to be claimed until the last day of school.
Our elementary classes are in need of additional recess equipment for the upcoming school year. If you have any gently used jump ropes, balls, frisbees, sidewalk chalk, ect. that your children no longer use and would be willing to donate it for our recesses, we would be very grateful. Please email Erin Marshall at email@example.com with any potential donations.
New Family Recruitment:
Please assist us with the recruitment of new potential families. There is a $300 discount for referring a family that is accepted and stays at least half of the 2019-20 school year. See the elementary office for more information.
