TCS Newsletter – Friday November 30, 2018

Hello TCS families. I trust you have had a good week. Luke 2:11 says, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Praise the Lord for the gift of Jesus! Enjoy the Christmas season! Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you. Have a great weekend!

 

Field Trip to Christmas Tree Festival:

The K4 and Preschool classes went to the Allen County Museum for the Christmas Tree Festival on Wednesday.  The students enjoyed seeing all the different Christmas trees, and especially enjoyed interacting with Evergreen, the talking Christmas tree!  The students were also able to participate in some crafts, and finished with cookies and lemonade!  Thank you to Cliff Roberts for driving the bus, and thank you, Lord, for the beautiful snow, and safety to and from the museum!

 

Elementary Christmas Program:

The K4-5th grade will be performing a Christmas program titled Journey To Bethlehem on Tuesday night, Dec. 4th, at 6:30 P.M. All students are to report to their classrooms by 6:15 p.m.  The program will be in the LBT sanctuary.  The students have been working diligently.  We look forward to seeing everyone at the program!

 

Community Christmas Performances:

The TCS high school choir will be doing a variety of Christmas performances in our community. Thanks to Mrs. Brokaw and the students for getting out and blessing our community.

Please note the following performance locations and dates:
Friday, November 30 – Allen County Museum’s Christmas Tree Festival (2:00 P.M.)
Thursday, December 6 – WTLW’s Holiday Music Festival Recording
Thursday, December 13  – Elderberries’ Christmas Dinner at the Old Barn Out Back

 

Varsity Boys Basketball Season Begins:

The varsity and j.v. boys open their 2018-19 season at Home vs. Ottoville tonight, Friday Nov. 30th at 6:00 P.M. The Pioneers will be at Continental this Saturday night Dec. 1st at 5:00 P.M. Come on out and support the Pioneers!

 

NHS Project:

The TCS National Honor Society will be helping Elmcroft of Lima with their “Socks and Gloves for Veterans” campaign.  We will have collection boxes in both buildings.  Please consider helping the veterans and their families in the Lima area.  The NHS will deliver our school’s donations at the end of November.  Thanks for your participation.

 

Toys for Tots:

Toys for Tots collection boxes are located in elementary building.  New, unwrapped toys will be collected until December 9, 2018.  All donations will benefit local needy families.  The collection boxes will be picked up the week of December 10 – 15.

 

Spirit Dress Down Week:

December 3-7 (Sponsored by Student Government)
Monday- Red & Green Get in the Christmas Spirit!
Tuesday- Christmas Characters OR Superheroes
Wednesday- Warm up for Winter Winter Hats, Scarves, Gloves, sweaters, etc.
Thursday- Twin Day Find a friend & dress the same!
Friday- White Out Show your support during the day and @ the Game that night! (Friday Dec. 7th)

 

IMPORTANT NOTES FOR DRESS DOWN:

DO NOT WEAR: Yoga Pants, Leggings, Sweatpants, Wind pants. Clothes must be modest and fall within TCS modesty Standards. Any wording should not be offensive in any way. TCS Dress Code Jeans are acceptable. THEME must be followed; Failure to follow a theme and/or “push the limits” will result in discipline and loss of privilege to dress down.
