Hello TCS families. Philippians 1:6 says, “Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ”.  The Lord has a special plan for each of our lives, and He is continuing to mold us and shape us each day to become more like Him and to help us make a difference in our world. Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you.

Picture Day:
  • October 8th
  • Students must wear uniforms
  • Picture retakes will be December 1st (this date was not on the original calendar)

Elementary Parents Lunch:

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel the elementary parent lunch scheduled for October 16th.  We look forward to resuming this event next year.

Reminders:

Please remember to send a water bottle and a mask with your child each day. We are able to meet these needs when students forget, but we encourage students to bring their own each day. Thank you.

Elementary Art:

During Art this week, the elementary got to make a family of leaf puppets. We learned that when we have Jesus in our hearts, we are a part of God's family. Students were encouraged to create a puppet show where one leaf puppet shared the gospel with the other. As Christians, it's our job to share the life changing message of Jesus Christ. What a fun way for our children to practice that responsibility!

9th Grade Bible Service Project:

The freshman Bible class made yard signs to place outside windows at Lima Manor to wish the residents and staff there a "Happy Autumn!" The class prayed for the residents, as it has been a difficult time for them, their families, and their caregivers during this pandemic.

6th Grade History Activity:

The sixth grade students recently learned about the ancient Sumerian civilization. They dressed up and discovered what it was like to live in Sumer in 3000 BC, from using a net to fish to using non-standard measurements to measure! Students enjoyed traveling back in time and learning about a different culture!

Accessing Renweb/FACTS Family Portal (ParentsWeb):

Just a reminder that TCS parents can access their students’ grades through FACT’s Family Portal (previously known as Renweb or ParentsWeb).  This is a private and secure parents’ portal that allows parents to view academic information regarding their children. If you do not have an account, please refer to the link to help you set up an account.

TCS Homecoming:

TCS will be sponsoring a limited Homecoming Weekend this year.  All schools are having to limit their Homecoming activities this year due to Covid-19.  Unfortunately, that means that many of our families won’t be able to participate in all of the activities.
