Hello TCS families. Let’s take some time this month to thank the Lord for His blessings in our lives. Psalm 107:1 says, “Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever”. Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you.

1st Grade Voting Lesson:

The first grade students enjoyed participating in their own election on Tuesday! They read the book “Duck for President” and learned what kind of candidates Duck and Farmer Brown would be. Students weighed the pros and cons of each platform, created their own voter registration cards, and casted their votes! It was a tight race, Farmer Brown won by one vote! Hence, we had a discussion on the importance of every single vote.

4th Grade Election:

The fourth grade learned about the presidential election process by having our own election for class president. Each student prepared a speech, campaign poster, and a slogan. The candidates that wanted to run for president presented their speeches on Monday to the class. Our class voted on their class President and Vice President on Tuesday! The class selected Ryker Szuch as President and AJ Hiester as Vice-President! The fourth graders did an awesome job on this project and had a lot of fun in the process!

Allen Lima Youth Leadership:

Juniors Emma White and Ellie Clevenger will be representing Temple Christian in the Allen Lima Youth Leadership Program. This program is attended by students representing all Allen County schools. They will meet throughout the year dealing with team building, leadership styles, public speaking, diversity, and other leadership topics.

Chemistry Experiment:

Mrs. Stoodt’s chemistry class had a lab this week that demonstrated the concept of limiting reactants. They discovered that in chemical reactions, one of the reactants usually runs out first. The students were able to observe that the limiting reactant controls the amount of product that can be formed in a chemical reaction and apply that to the concepts they have been learning about in class.
