Aubrey Sutherland is the new fourth grade teacher at Temple this year. She is married to her husband Nathan. They have a daughter Paislyn, who is a TCS third grader, and another new addition will be joining the family this spring!

Although this is Mrs. Sutherland’s first time teaching in a setting like this, she worked at the Learning Tree for 10 years.

Originally from Lima, Mrs. Sutherland has lived in this area her entire life. She graduated from Bath High School, and went to the Ohio State University Lima branch.
She and her family attend Lima First Assembly Church, where she helps with the children’s church and also vacation Bible school.

For as long as she can remember, Mrs. Sutherland has wanted to be a teacher. When she was younger, she loved just to babysit and to be around children. Her favorite part of teaching is “watching the children grow,” she explained.

Mrs. Sutherland chose to teach at Temple because, she said, “Having God at the center of all you do is extremely important. I am so glad I am teaching in a Christian environment and that my own child gets to be here as well!”

Some of Mrs. Sutherland’s favorite things to eat are seafood and pizza. She also loves to craft, shop, and spend time with her family and friends.
Christmas is her favorite holiday because she loves the lights, family time and celebrating Christ’s birth. She even decorates early!

Her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
