Jaela Ann Shoup was born on September 27, 2000. She is the daughter of Manetta and Justin Shoup, and has a younger brother, Jaden, who also attends Temple. Jaela has attended Temple since her junior year of high school. Her favorite part of high school is the friendships she has made.

Jaela currently attends Grace Baptist Church. Her favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11, which says “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’.”

Jaela’s plans after high school include graduating from college and getting a good job. She says if she could spend a day with any celebrity or famous person, it would be Jennifer Lawrence because she “is a fun and outgoing person and likes adventure.”

Jaela’s advice to underclassmen is “Don’t procrastinate.” She says the part about Temple that has affected her life the most is that it has strengthened her relationship with God.
