Hello TCS families. We trust you have had a good week. Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you.
Ephesians 4:1-3 “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Homecoming 2021:
The 2021 TCS Homecoming is just two weeks away! Please plan to join us on Friday night, October 1st and Saturday, October 2nd as we enjoy another year of Homecoming events. If you are interested in helping with Homecoming, please email Zach Menke at zachmenke@gmail.com or call Stacy Menke at 419-236-5070. You can also call the high school office at 419-227-1644 (Option 2). Homecoming schedule of events will be available next week!
Encourage TCS Students with a Homecoming Program Ad:
We are putting together the TCS homecoming program. For $5, anyone can purchase a space to write a note of encouragement to any student or group of students. Example notes would be: "Great job volleyball girls on your season! -Coach" or "Have a great school year, Layla! Love, Mom and Dad." These can be handwritten by you or us. If you are interested in purchasing a note space, please contact Megan Kinnear at kinnearm@tcspioneers.org no later than Wednesday, September 22nd.
TCS Chapel:
TCS was privileged to have the Covenant Players perform interactive Bible plays and skits for elementary and MS/HS chapels this week. The group did a great job of teaching a variety of Bible stories and principles using drama as its medium.
A Trip to Ancient Mesopotamia:
This week, the sixth grade history class learned about the different classes and occupations of the ancient Sumerian civilization. They were able to dress up in costume and use a few props as we discussed the roles of kings, priests, scribes, artisans, merchants, fishermen, and many others. It was a fun way to learn new information and travel back in time!
1st Grade Science Centers:
Mrs. Rager and Miss Kirkendall’s classes joined together for hands-on science centers this week. Some of the centers included classifying living and non-living things, animal Lego building challenges, and habitat puzzles to name a few. The students loved wrapping up our science chapter in this engaging way!
TCS Recess:
Our students enjoyed the beautiful weather this week! At recess, our students raced one another in a quick relay. Building friendships and learning to play together are things we teach and encourage at Temple.
Blessing for TCS staff:
Our staff enjoyed ice cream treats from Dairy King on Thursday. We are so thankful for the generous donation from Michael Mays at Dairy King.
Purchasing Lunch online:
TCS families may now use Renweb/FACTS to order and pay for student lunches. Please contact the office with any questions regarding this new opportunity.
Hearing and Vision Screenings:
Over the next two weeks K5, 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th and all new students will have vision and hearing screenings. Rhodes State students will assist with these screenings on September 23rd, along with their instructor and our nurse.
Postural screenings will be included for 5th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Parents/guardians will be informed if there is a need for follow-up. Any questions can be directed to our nurse, Shelley Zwiebel.
