Hello TCS families. We trust you have had a good week. Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you.
Romans 12:2: “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will”.
Seventh Grade English Project:
The 7th graders worked in groups to produce a Fairytale Breaking News Story. Working together, they had to choose a Fairytale, write a script, and then film a short segment. Not only did they learn a lot, but it was also a lot of fun.
Lego Robotics Competition:
The Lego Robotics students are currently designing and programming catapults for class. They will have a competition next week to see which one throws an object the farthest. They have already had competitions to see which robots could draw the best star shape, complete a race course the fastest, and win a race. Some of the designs have been spectacular, and it's been great seeing the students critically think through creating their robots to complete the tasks at hand.
Algebra 2 Fun:
The Algebra 2 classroom was filled with laughter this week as students factored polynomials to create jokes.
Third Grade Activity:
Our third graders have been working on graphing in math class. Students were given the opportunity to create three different graphs. They used the coloring of M&M's as their data. Of course they got to enjoy the snack too!
National Honor Society Induction Ceremony:
Congratulations to Temple's 2021 National Honor Society inductees! Leyton Chambers, Dawson Clay, Sabrina Heffner, Jessica Holloway, and Jarred Huffaker were inducted into the TCS chapter of NHS on Thursday, October 28th. NHS students embody the four pillars of leadership, scholarship, service, and character. They contribute to our school and community by exemplifying these traits and through various service projects throughout the year. Congratulations to all of our new inductees! Thank you to NHS Adviser, Mrs. Cooper, for leading this group of outstanding students!
Congratulations to Miss Brokaw and all 6-12 band/choir students for their excellent concert on Tuesday evening. We had a great crowd here to support our young people.
Veterans’ Day Program:
On Nov. 11th, TCS will be hosting its annual Veterans’ Day Program in the LBT auditorium from 2:00-2:45 P.M. We are looking to honor veterans who have served or are currently serving our country. If any TCS families have a family member that you would like to honor on that day, please send a picture with their name, branch of service, and where they are serving or served to Mrs. Linda Kiser at firstname.lastname@example.org by November 5th.
TCS Harvest Market Craft Fair and Chicken Dinners:
On Sat. Nov. 13th, TCS will host its annual TCS Craft Fair in the gymnasium from 10 A.M.-3:00 P.M. Chicken Dinners by Fat Kid BBQ are being sold for pick-up on that day from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M.. The proceeds from the chicken dinners will go to the TCS Junior and Senior classes. Chicken Dinners include one quarter chicken, green beans, homemade mac-and-cheese, roll, and desert. Tickets are $10.00. Tickets must be purchased by Nov. 5th. You may purchase tickets from a TCS junior/senior or call 419-236-3499 or email email@example.com.
Dress Code Note:
Per TCS dress code policy, today (Oct. 29th) is the last day to wear school uniform shorts. Uniform shorts will return for the months of April & May in 2022!
TCS is experiencing the same challenges as other schools in obtaining various food items for its lunch menu. There may be a few occasions where we will need to substitute for the items we have listed on our lunch menu. We will do our best to keep the substitutions similar to what was originally listed on the menu.
