Hello TCS families. We trust that you are all staying safe and healthy. Psalm 18:2 says, “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” We have a great God to trust during these difficult times. Please know that we are praying for our TCS families, we miss you all, and we are really looking forward to seeing you when we are able to physically return to our school buildings. Here are a few news items that we wanted to share with you. Have a great weekend!

Return to School

Our tentative return to school date is now Monday May 4th. We are aware that this date could be extended by the Governor of Ohio.  We will communicate any changes when we are made aware of them. Please continue to check your email, social media and, of course, school wide texts for important communications. Thank you.

Re-enrollment Deadline Extension

Due to the health and financial crisis we are currently experiencing, TCS has extended the early enrollment deadline from March 31st to April 30th. We understand that this is a challenging time for many families. This gives families an extra month to take care of re-enrollment fees, which are $100 per child before April 30th and $150 per child after April 30th. We look forward to serving your family in the 2020-21 school year.

EdChoice Scholarship Renewal

Renewals for EdChoice Expansion and EdChoice Traditional Scholarships have begun. For both scholarships it is vital that we submit the renewals as early as possible.  ODE requires that re-enrollment forms and fees be turned in before we renew scholarships. Please contact Amy Link (419-227-1644, ext. 1 or with questions regarding your child's EdChoice Scholarship. All EdChoice renewal forms and proof of address (utility bill or other option) must be sent to Amy Link by May 15, 2020 so we can meet ODE's May 30, 2020 deadline. Families should email or mail the required documents. You can also set up a phone appointment with Amy if you need assistance completing the forms. Thank you.

TCS Distance Learning Activities

We are very grateful for our students, parents, teachers, and building administrators for making the most of our current academic learning environment. We hope you enjoy the variety of activities our students are enjoying in the section below.

3rd Grade Quilts

Our class designed their own quilt square during their Heritage Studies work! This is what all of their squares would look like if they were together!

5th Grade Learning Activities

The fifth graders have been hard at work while learning from home.  We have been specifically learning about perimeter, area, diameter, and circumference for math.  Students were asked to find objects around their house that they could measure the perimeter or diameter of and were then asked to find the area or circumference of that same object.  In the pictures, Rozelyn Chambers is extending her learning of these concepts, Adam Kiser is practicing his spelling words, and JJ Sheets is learning about why the death and resurrection of Jesus is still important for us today!

M.S. Art Sketches

Middle school art students have been producing some excellent work the last few weeks. Students have had three recent sketchbook assignments. The first was a palm tree. They were to follow a video and complete the step-by-step drawing, which they did so well. The second assignment was to do a two-point perspective drawing of city buildings, also using a step-by-step video. This required a lot of attention to details, diligent work, and a good ruler. The third task was to choose anything that was related to Easter. They could color it or leave it in pencil. The students have really put forth great effort in their distance learning.

8th Grade English

The 8th grade English class is mastering online learning. This week, they had the opportunity to participate in class meetings online to complete their grammar exercises with Mrs. Searcy, as a group. They also used YouTube videos made by Mrs. Searcy to facilitate their learning outside of the classroom.

10th Grade English

This week, the 10th graders kicked off their public speaking unit in English class! Who would have thought that we would be doing public speaking as a part of distance learning? Students will be utilizing Google Meeting to video conference with Mrs. Searcy as they present their dramatic readings! In the coming weeks, they will do a variety of types of speeches, including an impromptu speech, a how-to speech, and a persuasive speech.

11th and 12th Grade English

Just before spring break, TCS juniors and seniors in English 11 and English 12 completed a journal entry reflecting on blessings that they have been able to see in their own lives during the time we are working from home. Each student was able to name at least ten things. It is great that they are seeing the positive in the middle of all of this and that they are seeing God work in their lives. Here are just a few examples of the blessings our students have experienced:

"I've learned to appreciate my school teachers."
"I used to want school to be over already, but now I miss it."
"It made me realize that it is impossible to be successful through procrastination."
"At work, I've been able to be a witness to people and reach out to them with my positivity."
"I am actually able to spend time with family members.
"It makes you realize how important friendships are."
"I have more time to get my reading and prayer in."

Yearbook Class

The Yearbook staff may not be in the building, but they are working hard to make this book the best one yet. Yearbook Staff members are collaborating in online meetings to discuss ideas, work on pages, and make decisions together. This will definitely be a year to remember!

Yearbook:  Order your 2020 TCS Yearbook! You can email your order request to Mrs. Searcy or order online at Contact Mrs. Searcy at if you have questions.

6-12 Photo Contest

Mr. McPheron challenged any 6-12th grade students that wanted to send in photos of them doing their school work with their pets! Here are the winners of the contest Elizabeth Kinnear (6th) and Emma White (10th). Check out ALL of the submissions this weekend on facebook!
